Stead & Simpson is one of the oldest, most well-known and respected names in the British footwear industry. The business can trace its history back to 1834, when it was founded as a manufacturer of footwear with retail outlets. In the 1960s manufacturing ceased to allow concentration on the retail business. A new Head Office and warehouse was built in Syston, near Leicester, at that time. Across the business we sell a mixture of our own brands and branded footwear from other manufacturers. Many of our stores also sell related products, such as stylish and practical handbags and other accessories. Shoe Zone is a multiple footwear retailer, currently trading from over 570 locations throughout the UK and Republic of Ireland. We sell approximately 30 million pairs of footwear per year - on average 57 pairs for every minute of the year! We like to keep our prices keen - our average price is 40% of the national average of £20.
