Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail Raises £1.3 Million

The St John's Shopping Centre sponsored Oor Wullie statue, Oor Floo'ers O' Scotland, raised a fantastic £4,400 at auction last week!!

The stunning Oor Floo’ers O' Scotland sculpture sponsored by St John’s Shopping Centre and painted by Freya Cumming was on display in Perth shopping centre for almost three months.

The Tayside auction raised an amazing total of £239,000 for The Archie Foundation Tayside and its efforts to raise £2 million for a new twin operating theatre suite for children at Ninewells Hospital.

Derek Martin, Marketing Manager at St John’s Shopping Centre said: “We are delighted that the people of Perth got to play apart in such an amazing public art trail while raising thousands of pounds for such a fantastic local cause”

The Oor Wullie’s BIG Bucket Trail ran for 11 weeks from 17th June 2019 – 30th August 2019, culminating in a series of Farewell Events and nationwide auctions in each of the five host locations, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Dundee and Perth, Aberdeen and Inverness.

The 200 painted sculptures of Scotland’s favourite son were auctioned off, helping to raise a fantastic £1.29 million for the three charities supporting the country’s children’s hospitals. £873,700 had been raised at auctions in Dundee, Aberdeenshire and Edinburgh and £419,500 for Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity and taking the total raised to almost £1.3m.
